Abstract

840,688. Textile drafting apparatus. AMBLER SUPERDRAFT Ltd. June 24, 1958 [Aug. 8, 1957], No. 25043/57. Class 120(2). [Also in Group XXIV] Drafting apparatus of the kind described in Specification 671,633 has gears secured to the intermediate rollers by means of springs, a flat on each roller being engaged by a spring to provide sufficient pressure for the gear to drive the roller. The flat is preferably formed in a peripheral groove which retains contact between the spring and the roller even when the driving connection has been interrupted. A spring S has its ends mounted in a gear 21 and is formed with a bar portion 39 that normally bears against a flat 29 on the roller. Specification 671,643 also is referred to.
