Abstract

935,031. Belt gearing. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. Feb. 9, 1960 [Feb. 25, 1959], No. 4515/60. Class 80 (1). [Also in Group XXV] In a belt drive, e.g. for textile machines, wherein a tension roller 18, Fig. 3, is pressed against a belt 18<SP>1</SP> by a spring 20 acting on a roller support 17 which is hinged to a stationary bracket 12, the hinged connection is provided by a flexible strip 9, e.g. of sheet steel, whose ends are respectively clamped to the support 17 and bracket 12. The hinged connection is thus compact and needs no lubrication. As shown, the bracket 12 is angularly adjustable about two perpendicular axes, being clamped by a bolt 14, Fig. 4, to a bracket 12<SP>1</SP> which is clamped about a bar 1<SP>1</SP>. In a modification, Fig. 1 (not shown), the spring tension is adjustable. Alternatively the spring 20 may be omitted, the tensioning pressure being provided by the strip 9 alone, and for this purpose the strip may be initially stressed.
