Abstract

1,220,106. Bearings. A. LODIGE. 15 May, 1968 [26 May, 1967 (2)], No. 23062/68. Heading F2A. A rectilinear-motion bearing assembly comprises an elastically flexible sheet member 2a having tensioned portions, or parts 5, 9 under tension attached thereto, which contact a slidable component 1, and a rigid support 3 secured to the sheet member and provided with screw adjustment members 4 which urge the said portions or parts normally against the component, the portions or parts being immovable in the direction of motion of the component. The sheet member may engage a similar sheet secured to the component 1 (Figs. 7 and 8, not shown), both sheets being of spring steel. The parts 5, 9 may be replaced by rollers rotatably secured to the sheet member (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown). The screw adjustment members may operate through hydraulic or pneumatic cushions (Fig. 10, not shown).
