Abstract

994,239. Drying apparatus. KODAK Ltd. May 8, 1964 [May 10, 1963], No. 18717/63. Heading F4G. A squeegee apparatus for drying photographic sheets comprises a pair of nip rollers 1, 2 of resilient material or having resilient contacting surfaces, and pairs of rigid backing rollers 3, 4 and 5, 6 associated with respective nip rollers to urge them into contact. Each pair of backing rollers is mounted with the axes of the rollers disposed either side of the line joining the axes of the nip rollers, and a pressure adjusting means comprising a rigid member 7 enclosing a pair of bearing surfaces 8 and 9 movable by a screw 10, bears on the backing rollers 3, 4 along a line joining their axes. In a modification only one nip roller has a resilient contacting surface and has a pair of rigid backing members associated with it, the second nip roller being rigid.
