839,957. Ventilating vehicles. USINES CHAUSSON S. A., DES. Sept. 19, 1956 [Sept. 19, 1955], No. 28713/56. Class 137 [Also in Groups XIII and XXIX] A system for supplying heated air to motor vehicles comprises a heat exchanger 6 supplied with hot liquid from the engine cooling system by a valve device 9 (see Group XXIX), air being supplied to the heat exchanger through a pipe 4 by a motor driven fan 3 having a protecting grid 2 over its intake. Hot air passes via a nozzle 7 into the vehicle and via tubes 8 to the windscreen. The valve 28, Fig. 2, is of the double-ring type and may, as shown, isolate the heat exchanger ports 21, 22 entirely, or direct the whole or a part of the engine cooling liquid from the main conduit 18, 19 thereto.
