Abstract

825,742. Agricultural implements. MASSEYFERGUSON (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd. Jan. 27, 1956 [Jan. 28, 1955], No. 2578 /55. Class 6(1). An implement for gapping plants comprises a hub mounted on a shaft 21 and provided with radial grooves for the reception of gapping tools 26 each provided with a notch which engages a key 30 in the hub, the tools being secured by clamps 31 which each clamp two tools. As shown in Fig. 12, a number of the implements are pivotally mounted in a shaft 45 provided with landwheels 42 which drive the implements by means of gears. The shaft 45 is mounted in a frame 40, Fig. 11 (not shown), provided with side arms 41 and with means for attachment to a three point linkage of a tractor. The shafts 21 each rotate in a tube 49 on which is mounted a depth wheel 50, each wheel being connected by means of a shaft 56 and lever 51 to a shaft 52 adjusted by a handlever 54. A fin-like plate 61 is provided and serves as a rudder. A weight box 64 is provided.
