Abstract

815,612. Treating charge. TAYLOR, A. D. F. June 14, 1956, No. 18414/56. Class 7(2) Apparatus for supplying liquid to the induction pipe comprises a container 1 for the liquid adapted to be sealed against atmosphere, a connection 15, 17a, 17 between the container and the induction pipe, and means to divert suction from the induction pipe from the air space to the liquid to enable the liquid to be drawn off from the container. Thus at low power running little or no suction is set up in the jet tube 15. At higher power and greater speed the suction causes the cap 4 to be drawn down and close the passage 6. The suction then acts in the tube 5a and liquid is drawn into the induction pipe. A passage 9 also leads to the induction pipe and this passage enables the liquid to be drawn off. An adjustable valve 27 (Fig. 5) may be associated with the jet tube 15. The Specification refers to known types of apparatus for introducing water into the induction manifold.
