A throttle valve or blow-off valve 48 in the delivery pipe 16 of an exhaust driven turbocharger 14 is actuated by a servomotor 45, controlled by a device 42 responsive to compressor delivery pressure, to prevent the delivery pressure exceeding a predetermined value.
