601,858. Treating charge. RIDEHALGH, F. Oct. 9, 1945, No. 26269. [Class 7 (ii)] Oil and water vapours are supplied from a tank 1 through a pipe 2 to the throat of a Venturi in the induction manifold of an internal - combustion engine to mix with the fuel mixture, air, which may be heated by the exhaust, being drawn through a pipe 6 into a mixture of lubricating oil and water in the tank, wherein a partial suction is maintained above the liquid level to aid vaporization by providing the pipe 6 with a capillary jet 7. Oil vapour or water vapour alone may be supplied.
