Abstract

A rectangular bottle containing a liquid, e.g. water, up to a maximum level of a filler plug has a top inlet for air and one or two top outlets which are connected by rubber or nylon pipes to the inlet manifold whereby moist air is supplied to the manifold.

Description

Fuel Air Moisture Economiser.
The fuel air moisture economiser is an artificial means of making the air fuel mixture amalgamate evenly by dampening a certain amount of air using water or certain chemical liquids.
It is known that petrol does not amalgamate evenly with dry air, consequently because of the speed in which the piston and the valve operate in the opposite side of the inlet valve. The mixture being weak burns slowly and when the exhaust valve opens, the mixture is expelled still smouldering inside the exhaust, building up carbon and releasing carbon monoxide fumes fram the exhaust pipe.
The moist air inserted through the inlet manifold close to the chamber, reduces the temperature and helps the petrol to amalgamate evenly through out the chamber so that when the spark plug triggers the spark, the mixture burns evenly and completely before the exhaust valve opens and in so doing keeps the chamber, plugs, valves and exhaust free from carbon and consequently with better performance and longer lasting engine life.
To achieve this air moisturiser a special device has been developed and consists of the following :1) A water reservoir in the shape of a rectangular bottle (fig.l) with a mounting bracket at the back and a filler plug in the centre at the front 2/3 from the base which is so designed to prevent overfilling of the bottle.(S'o Dj On the top there are three cylindrical protrusions to which are fitted special adaptors. (fig..A.B.C.) A) Inlet.
B) Valve to the manifold.
C) Spare for turbo and diesel versions.
2) A series of pipes (either rubber or nylon) which are connected together by nylon Y adaptors and connect the reservoir to the inlet manifold by specially made metal adaptors.
Working Principle.
The air is sucked in through the inlet adaptor by the depression in the inlet manifold, this air hits the water at the bottom of the reservoir and becomes moist. This air then rises to the top of the reservoir and is sucked through the valve, into the pipes attached to the manifold and straight into the chamber.

Claims (2)

  1. CLAIMS.
The Coolburn Induction Moisturiser tackles economy at the very heart, in the combustion chamber in the following manner: 1. By an ingenious process of automatically moisturising the air/fuel intake at the manifold, it provides a more completely atomised mix ture at a cooler controlled temperature, ensuring almost complete combustion of the charge.
  2. 2. A series of pipes which are connected together by nylon Y adaptors and connect the reservoir to the inlet manifold by brass adaptors.
This device, once it has been correctly fitted in the engine compartment of the vehicle must be set using an exhaust gas analyser, and once set needs no further maintenance other than to refill the reservoir, as and when required, which is approximately every 1000 miles.
    2. By the pre-ceeding operation this in turn provides a significant increase in useful power.
    3. Which in turn leads to minimal wastage of unburnt fuel.
    4. It all but eliminates harmful carbon induced detonation, which is a major cause of valve and other internal damage.
    5. Furthermore this helps the engine to run on lead free petrol.
    6. It furthermore drastically reduces carbon build-up, making for a constantly clean engine interior, increased spark plug life and longer lasting exhaust components.
All of these factors represent substantial savings additional to that of fuel economy.
Of additional benefit to the community and environment is that by ensuring an almost complete combustion, carbon monoxide emission from the exhaust is reduced.
To achieve these benefits a special device has been devoloped and consists ot the following:
    1. A water reservoir in the shape of a bottle (fig.l.) with a mounting bracket at the back, and a filler plug in the centre at the front, which is so designed to prevent overfilling.
On the top are three protrusions to which are fitted special adaptors.
    A) Inlet.
    B) Valve to the manifold.
    C) Spare for turbo and diesel versions.
