Abstract
814,639. Drying grain. BLANCH FARMS Ltd., A. Sept. 20, 1957, No. 29596/57. Class 34(2) Grain and particularly grass seed is dried during its passage down a shoot inclined at an angle a little greater than the angle of repose of the grain, the shoot being formed of spaced slots 18, Fig. 2, and the grain traversed down the shoot by vanes 51 attached to an endless chain 50. The shoot is formed of sections 12, 13, 14, Fig. 1, warm air being forced through the sections 12, 13 and cool air through the section 14 by fans 30 connected by ducts 27 to casings 26 beneath the shoot. The dried grain is removed by an elevator 15. In a modification, the grain is traversed down the shoot by vanes 64, Fig. 6, mounted on a rotary shaft 65. Specification 613,584 is referred to.
