806,158. Hoists. GIUGNI, B., GIUGNI, R., and GIUGNI, N. Sept. 14, 1956, No. 28115/56. Class 78 (3). A portable hoist for use in stacking timber comprises a guide frame 1, 2 adapted to lean against the stack, a pair of motor driven winch drums 21, 22 supported on the frame and connected through cables 19, 20 with a lifting carriage 8, and a cradle 13 which is pivoted to this carriage at 12 and is provided with a roller 17 which facilitates loading and unloading. The carriage is guided on the frame rails 1, 2 by rollers 9, 10 and angle iron bars 7, parts of which project through slots 6 in the rails. Limit switches (not shown) are arranged on the rails to stop the driving motor 29 at predetermined positions of the carriage.
