Abstract

804,755. Egg cartons. EGG-SAFETY CARTONS Ltd. Oct. 10, 1956 [Oct. 13, 1955], No.29191/55. Class 18. A blank for a collapsible carton is creased longitudinally to define side panels 21, 21<SP>1</SP>, and bottom panels 22, 22<SP>1</SP>, longitudinal partition panels 23, 23<SP>1</SP> having slots 24 and holes 25. The central area, which corresponds with the top of the assembled carton, is out and creased to form downwardly foldable lateral partition panels 26 attached only to triangular pieces 27 ; slots 28 define tongues 29 adapted to engage in the holes 25, to maintain the panels 26 substantially vertical, while arcuate cuts 31 define and support portions 32. The panel 23 and/or 23<SP>1</SP> may be modified to extend upwardly as a carrying portion. In an alternative form, the panels 26 have tabs projecting through slots in the panels 21, 21<SP>1</SP>, the slots being wide enough to receive similar tabs of another carton lying alongside.
