A cardboard carton as described in the parent Specification comprises ribs 26 in the base to abut against flaps 17 and prevent them from slipping. The ribs may be formed by creasing the base and each rib may be wedge shaped in cross-section. The carton may be in the form of a three sided tray. Two ribs 26 may abut each flap 17.
