A pallet for carrying hop bines and the like has an inclined platform 10 carrying a number of guide posts 20 which serve to hold the bines disposed alternately right and left so that they do not become entangled. Two guide posts 20 may be disposed down the centre line of the platform 10 or three may be provided as illustrated. The platform 10 is supported by runners 11 of steel or light alloy tube braced by angle-section posts 15, 16 and by transverse tubes 14 and angle-section members 17. The platform 10 has side walls 22 and an inclined lower end wall which does not show in the drawing.
