[Also in Division F2] A pallet, Figs. 1, 2, for storage and transport of lengths of buoyant hose 1 each having end flanges 2, 3 and spaced groups of floats 4, 5, 6, 7, is in the form of a skeleton casing and comprises a frame consisting of a pair of longitudinal members 20, 21 formed from boxsection material and interconnected by transverse members 8 to 12 also formed from boxsection material and adapted to provide supports for several lengths of hose 1 disposed parallel to the members 20, 21. The members 8 to 12 are so positioned that they support the hoses 1 at locations between each end flange 2, 3 and its adjacent group of floats, respectively 4, 5 and between the groups of floats 4 to 7. Uprights 23 to 32 formed from box-section material secured in the frame retain the lengths of hose 1 on the frame, the uprights 24, 26, 29, 31 have feet fixed on their lower ends and their upper ends extend upwardly above the other uprights. The ends of the hose 1 enclose metallic nipples terminating in the flanges 2, 3 which are protected in transport by securing discs of wood 2A, 3A over them. In a modified pallet, Fig. 4, adapted to support hoses 1 in two tiers, all the uprights 23 to 32 are lengthened and each carries a pair of stops in the form of angle brackets 60. Boxsection sleeves 61, 62 are freely slidable on each pair of uprights, e.g. 23, 32, box-section transverse members 63 are secured between each sleeve of a pair, providing supports for a second layer of hoses 1.
