Abstract

[Also in Division B7] Apparatus for stacking and/or transporting a plurality of elongated articles such as pipes consists of one or more frameworks of the form shown in Fig. 2. This consists of a pair of uprights 1 hinged to a non-flexible tie which may either be rigid or, as shown, in two telescoping portions 2, 9. Provision is also made for the uprights to receive battens 5 for spacing the layers of a stacked load-as in Fig. 6, which shows the use of a pair of the frameworks in use as a sling. Like frameworks with dependent feet, constituted by downward extensions of the uprights 1, may serve as fork-liftable stillages. It is also possible (Figs. 3 and 5, not shown) to fit a pair of the frameworks in a vehicle or trailer (see Division B7).
