Abstract
799,658. Rotary compressors or pumps. NICHOLS, T. W. Jan. 2, 1958 [Dec. 2, 1957], No. 37443/57. Addition to 791,780. Class 110 (2). In the compressor or pump described in the parent Specification oil under pressure is supplied to end spaces 16 by way of ducts 14, 19, 20 and passes through a clearance 15, at each end of the rotor 4, to rotor end grooves 5, for sealing, cooling and lubricating purposes. The hard metal plate 6 may be drilled with holes for spraying oil into the working chamber and a joint 8 may be positioned as shown. The oil passes from each space 16, through a bearing 17, into spaces 15, 18 to each groove 5. A port 21, Fig. 3 (not shown), may be provided in each joint 8.
