Abstract

797,790. Container closures. BLEASE, F. R., and CALDWELL, S. B. Jan. 21, 1957 [Oct. 2, 1956], No. 29934/56. Class 125(3). A closure for collapsible tubes &c. consists of a screw cap 10 within which slides a piston valve 13 having a stem 14 projecting through an aperture 15, pressure of the contents, when the tube is squeezed, moving the piston 13 to uncover discharge aperture 16 and the valve being returned manually. In a modification, Fig. 12, the orifice 15a is approximately rectangular and the stem 14a of 'corresponding shape has recesses 14b so that it may be locked in closed position by turning it through a right angle.
