Abstract
795,733. Conveyers. BAKER PERKINS, Ltd. June 1, 1956 [March 8, 1955], No. 6835/55. Class 78 (1). A vertically movable platform A, Fig. 5, is moved from a position in which it receives an article P from an endless conveyer Q to a position in front of a pusher R whenever an article correctly positioned on the platform displaces a spring Cf to effect the coupling of the platform to the vertically reciprocating rod F. The movement of the spring Cf causes a member Cp pivoted to the platform to move into the path of the rod F. A spring Cs returns the spring Cf to the position shown. In another construction shown in Fig. 1 the platform A is also the pusher. The platform is supported by a rod B which is pivoted to one end of a bar E. A rod D is pivoted to the other end of the bar and like the rod B is maintained vertical by guides. The bar is mounted on a vertically reciprocating rod F. When an article is positioned correctly on the platform, the catch C has been pushed by it into the line of travel of the rod D. A spring G prevents movement of the rod B until the catch C has been pushed to the left. When the upward movement of the rod D is stopped by the catch, the rod B and the platform A move upward. The rod F is moved in synchronism with the apparatus to which the articles are being fed. The rod D may be used to open a feed gate, to operate a speed control or to start the feed into a preliminary hopper.
