Abstract
1340579 Conveyers EMHART CORP 19 April 1971 [23 April 1970] 23282/71 Heading B8A Apparatus for transferring articles such as glassware from a single line conveyer 10 on to a lehr conveyer 22 comprises a pusher bar 14 suspended from a carriage 70 provided with crank arms 90, 92 actuated by rack and gear assemblies 94, 98, 96, 100. The racks form part of a cross-slide 95 operated by a fluid motor 110. The carriage 70 is supported at one end on a lever 72 reciprocated by a motor-driven cam 56 and at the other end on rollers 76 supported on a non-linear track 75. This track ensures substantial horizontal movement of the bar 14 when the latter is moved by the crank arms. Initially, due to the combined movements of the carriage 70 and of the crank arms 90, 92 the bar 14 follows a diagonal path 16 to move the articles across the conveyer 10 on to a deadplate 20 and then on to the lehr conveyer 22. The bar 14 then retracts horizontally to a position 14a clear of the articles after which a camming device 60 causes the crank arms 90, 92 to be raised to stored positions 90b, 92b such that the bar 14 is clear of articles on the convever 10. The carriage 70 then returns to its starting position with the bar 14 following a lateral course above the articles on the conveyer 10.
