Abstract
1,036,500. Filling bays. B. A. LESPEAU. Nov. 10, 1964, No. 45760/64. Heading B8C. As a bag 9 (Fig. 3) is moved horizontally, suction cups 13, 14 moving with it open the bag mouth so that articles 22 may be inserted. In the form shown, suction vents 8 draw the bag from a magazine to a distributer 10 from which it is pushed by fingers 11 towards the suction cups 13, 14. The suction cups are moved vertically in guides 17 towards the bag mouth and horizontally by levers 18 so that the bag is opened over a hopper 21. Articles fed to the hopper on a conveyer belt 23 are pushed into the bag by a member 25. Filled bags are ejected between guides 26, 27 to a conveyer belt 28.
