A bushing assembly comprises a conductor 1, a layer of yieldable insulation 2 provided with a conductive coating. 3 connected with the conductor, a surrounding metal tube 4 connected with an outwardly extending mounting member 5, and a moulded insulating bushing 6-enclosing substantially all of the coating 3, the tube 4 and the inner portion of the mounting member 5, The bushing 6 may comprise a rigid epoxy resin and the insulation 2 may comprise a wound tape of asbestos coated with carbon applied as a liquid suspension.
