Abstract

872,002. Insulators. MAWSON, K. J., and BRISCOE, E. M. May 7, 1959 [June 24, 1958], No. 20260/58. Class 36. An insulator comprises a body 2 of casting rosin having an embedded conductor 1 extending therethrough and a conductive screen 3 embedded in the body, the screen being discontinuous transversely of the axis of the body and provided with protuberances 5 which extend to the outer surface of the insulator to make contact with a mounting flange 4. The screen may be a split sleeve of perforated aluminium and the resin is preferably an epoxy or polyester type. An additional projection 7 on the screen may be used for testing.
