Abstract

793,399. Supply systems for electric fences; charging and discharging condensers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 11, 1956 [April 14, 1955], No. 11016/56. Class 38 (4). To limit the voltage of the transformer 6 in the event of short-circuiting of the switching tube 5 and rectifier 2 of a supply system for an electric fence 8, comprising a condenser 4 maintained on charge over a resistor 3 and rectifier 2 from an A.C. source 1 and periodically discharged by a tube 5 into a transformer 6 feeding the fence, the transformer core is formed with an air gap 11, of at least 0.5 mm. and, preferably, 1.0 mm. or more. The circuit parameters are preferably such that upon failure of the tube 5, or rectifier 2, the fence voltage does not exceed 24 R.M.S.
