Abstract

Sulphur-containing dyes of the phthalocyanine series are obtained by acting on a polyaminophthalocyanine or a complex metal salt thereof at about 100-150 DEG C. with chlorsulphonic acid and then reducing the products. The reduction may be carried out in aqueous mineral-acidic suspension with, e.g. iron or zinc. The products dye vegetable fibres from a sodium sulphide bath greenish-grey shades. In examples, copper and nickel tetraminophthalocyanines are reacted with chlorsulphonic acid, and the reaction mixture is poured into hydrochloric acid containing iron powder.
