Abstract
791,399. Liquid fuel spray burners. SALLOT, L. E. May 20, 1954 [May 20, 1953], No. 14783/54. Class 75(1) A liquid fuel sprayer comprises a baffle plate 5 having a plurality of slits to give liquid passing therethrough a vertical motion in a chamber 7 formed in a hollow body 3 removably mounted on the end of a tube 1 supplying liquid fuel under pressure, such chamber terminating in an axial outlet orifice 8, the hollow body having at its end remote from the outlet orifice a seating 4a abutting the baffle and partially closing the slits 6 so that some of the cross-sectional area of the slits is left uncovered so as to provide for a pre-determined fuel output, a conical spray of a pre-determined angle. The hollow member 3 is provided with a cylindro-conical chamber 7. The diameters of the orifices 8 or 8<SP>1</SP> and the cylindrical portion of the chamber 7 or 7<SP>1</SP> of different hollow bodies 3 or 3<SP>1</SP> and are so arranged that the area of the slits 6 in the baffle 5 left uncovered by the chamber 7 or 7' is proportional to the area of the outlet orifice 8 or 8<SP>1</SP>.
