789,877. Knitting-machines. K.M.W. KNITAIDS. May 31, 1954 [May 29, 1953], No. 14954/53. Class 74 (2). A manually-operated parallel machine has the needles 17 of one bed provided with shoulders 21 for engaging the loops, and also provided with grooves 23 beneath the shoulders to permit the needles 18 of the other bed to extend through the loops when it is desired to effect loop transfer from the one bed to the other. The needle cams for effecting loop transfer are coupled to the carriage by means of the yarn guide drivers, the yarn guides remaining inoperative during this operation. A brush latch opener is moved with the cams operating the needles receiving the loops. The cams of the loop receiving needles may be adjusted so that only selected needles are operated to effect transfer. When it is desired to effect transfer the needle beds are shogged by means of a stepped plate engaging the end of one of the beds.
