A motor 2 for the winding means described in the parent Specification has two parallelconnected field winding sections 31 separated by spacers 3. Magnetic members 32 are correspondingly disposed on the armature of the motor, and the motor shaft also carries additional magnetic members 44 which are separate from the members 32. Displacement of the armature in the direction of the arrow B reduces the speed of the motor, whilst movement in the opposite direction increases the speed.
