Abstract

[Also in Division H2] Angular position or speed is transmitted from a first dynamo-electric machine 19 have two stators and a rotor 27 with short-circuited conductors, to a second similar machine 23, the first stator winding of machine 19 being fed with A.C. which is also fed to a servo amplifier 20. The second stator windings of the two machines are interconnected as shown. Currents induced in the first stator windings of the second machine by currents in the second stator winding are also fed to servo amplifier 20, and motor 29 is driven to re-position rotor 28 and reduce the phase difference between the two inputs to amplifier 20. Each machine 19, 23 may be constructed as shown in Fig. 5, with the rotor in two parts 38, 39 having interconnected conductors, and each associated with one of the stators 31, 32.
