788,095. Reclining chairs. RESEARCH INTERESTS, Ltd. March 15, 1956 [March 15, 1955; Oct. 6, 1955; Jan. 12, 1956], Nos. 7576/55; 28528/55 and 1132/56. Class 52(2) The leg rest 5 of a reclining chair is secured to lever arms 6 pivoted at 7 to seat side rails 3 and links 10 are pivotally attached to the lever at 9 and to levers 11 connected by links 12 to members 13 displaced rearwardly as the seat tilts upwardly so that tilting of the seat raises the leg rest, the actuating mechanism being disposed substantially within the depth of the seat structure so as to concealed thereby. In a modification (Fig. 3) each lever 6a is connected directly to member 13 by a link 15. In another modification the lever 11 is linked to the fixed side rail of the chair. In a further modification (Fig. 6) lever 6 is connected to link 10a pivotally. connected to a second link 22 connected to an arm 23 pivotally attached to fixed side rail 2 and the pivot pin connecting links 10a and 22 carries a roller 24 riding in a horizontal slot 25 formed in a plate 26 screwed to side rail 3, a second roller 27 carried by link 22 riding in an inclined slot 28 in date 26.
