Abstract

781,514. Sifting apparatus. ROBERTS, E. G. L. March 31. 1955, No. 9412/55. Class 117 [Also in Group XXIV] . A screen, concentrator or separator is oscillated by a vertical shaft 7 carrying two sector shaped balance weights 25, 26 and having an eccentric part 16 at its upper end from which a tapered pin 19 extends and engages the driven member 22 of the screen &c. The shaft is rotated in bearings 5, 6, in a casing 1, 2 and is driven by a pulley 12. The weights comprise diametrically opposed castings keyed to the shaft which are of dish form to receive a number of sector shaped weights 27 which are bolted in position. The weight 25 is twice that of weight 26 and formulae are given by which the weights may be determined. Specification 477,949 is referred to.
