Abstract

780,465. Hinges. SINGER MANUFACTURING CO. Jan. 2, 1956 [Feb. 2, 1955], No. 4/56. Class 65(2) [Also in Group VII] A lever 34 which is fulcrummed on a pin 38 is formed with a slot 37 through which the latter projects, the pin being mounted on a slide 39 securable on a base 11 by means of a thumb screw 41, whereby pin 38 may be secured in adjusted position along slot 37. The cylindrical portion 45 of the pin which engages the slot is formed eccentrically with respect to the shank 47 attaching the pin to the slide to enable initial adjustment of the pin to be effected. The shank-receiving aperture in the slide is formed with radial grooves 51 to ensure locking of the riveted shank in adjusted position. Said aperture may alternatively be non-circular. The head 49 of the pin is formed with a peripheral notch 52 to indicate the position of greatest eccentricity of portion 45. Lever 34 is connected by an anchor link 43 to a pivot pin 44 which engages the latter by a portion 55 formed eccentrically to the shank 56 which secures pin 44 to base 11.
