[Class 65(ii)] [Also in Group VII] Pivoting adjustments.-An arm 18 carrying the bobbin-winding spindle 24 of a sewing-machine is pivoted on a shouldered pin 33 mounted in lugs 11 and carrying washers 41 locked to the adjacent parts by nibs 51 and pressed together by a spring washer 43 to produce friction to hold the arm in any position. The friction is increased in the in-use position of the arm by cam portions 52 on the washers 41 coming opposite one another and thus increasing the stress in the spring washer 43.
