Abstract

378,271. Sewing-machines. FAIRWEATHER, W. C., 65, Chancery Lane, London.-(Singer Manufacturing Co.; Elizabeth, New Jersey, U.S.A.) Nov. 4, 1931, No. 30559. [Class 112.] A rotary look-stitch hook or other loop taker is mounted in a U-shaped bracket to enable it to be swung from its operative position shown full in Fig. 1 to the horizontal position shown dotted. The bracket 14 is pivoted at 16 and is connected by a link 26 to a lug 25 on a cover slide 6 so that on removal of the slide the loop taker is brought to an accessible position under a hole b previously covered by the slide. The coupling of the loop taker to its shaft 32 comprises a spring-pressed pin 30 which is mounted in the flanged end of the shaft The motion of the loop taker when brought to the horizontal position under the hole b is limited by an extension of the hinge pin 16 which engages a notch 19 in the thread-case 10.
