A variable resistance trimmer comprising a resistance element supported on an insulating supporting plate has a conductive rotor pivoted on the plate, the rotor having integrally formed spaced wings extending outwardly from it and means on the wings by which the rotor may be adjusted. Fig. 1 shows a variable resistance trimmer of the type described in Specification 779,641, in which a resistance element 18 is printed or otherwise bonded on to an insulating plate 10. The rotor 20 is pivoted to the plate by an eyelet 22 and as shown in Fig. 3, has wings 26 with slots 28 which enable the trimmer to be adjusted by a screwdriver. In a modification shown in Fig. 6, the rotor has wings 32 formed with teeth 34 which engage in slots 38 in an insulated knob 36. In a further modification shown in Fig. 9, the knob 60 is fixed to the rotor by wings 58 and has a skirt 62 which extends -over and protects the resistance element, the rotation of the knob is limited by a raised bar on the skirt engaging with a fixed stop. The trimmer may be fixed to a mounting plate 68, as shown in Fig. 8, by flanges 70 which grip the insulating plate at notches 72. Two or more resistance trimmers may be fixed on to a single mounting plate and each held in place by clips pressed out of the plate, Fig. 10 (not shown).
