945,402. Stripping electric cables. C.S.R. WOTTON. May 25, 1962 [June 6, 1961], No. 20377/61. Heading H1A. A device for stripping the insulation from electric cables comprises a pair of handles 10 fastened together by a leaf spring 12, each handle carrying a member 15 (Fig. 2), which is heated by an internal electric element so as to cut through the insulation and a subsequent movement of the instrument relative to the wire to remove it. The ends 16 of the heating elements have notches 17 so as to overlap when they grip the insulation and different spring arrangements for the handles are described.
