Abstract

935,537. Thermal switches. BUSCH-JAEGER DURENER METALLWERKE A.G. Dec. 15, 1959 [Dec. 16, 1958], No. 42589/59. Addition to 876,270. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XI] The fan heater switching arrangement of the parent Specification is modified in that the bimetallic strip 13 of the thermostat is secured to one end of a pivoted lever 15 having a camfollower which co-operates with a cam 16 mounted on the switch control shaft 12. The strip 13 has two set-screws 17 and 18 operating two springs 20 carrying movable contacts which co-operate with fixed contacts connected to a common terminal 25. A permanent magnet 30 is cemented or glued to each spring 20 and co-operates with a fixed armature 31. In an alternative arrangement (Figs. 17 to 19, not shown), the bimetallic strip has a single setscrew operating a single spring provided with two contacts co-operating with two fixed contacts which are insulated from one another. In this arrangement a magnet is secured to a fixed mounting and the armature is mounted on the contact spring.
