Abstract

1486507 Potentiometers SOC FRANCAISE DE L'ELECTRO-RESISTANCE 4 July 1975 [16 July 1974] 28404/75 Heading H1S A potentiometer comprises a resistive element on a substrate secured inside an insulating casing by resilient means which cause the substrate to bear against three support members being constituted by the inside ends of terminals which project through the casing. As shown a resilient metal blade 17 bears against a rib 21 of casing 1 and biases conductive areas 24 at the ends of resistive element 2 against terminal portions 4a, 6a. The third support member is constituted by a projection 16 integral with casing 1; in a modification it may be a portion of a centre-tap terminal (not shown). Blade 17 serves to conduct heat away from resistive element 2, and, in a second embodiment, may be replaced by a dished washer (29, Fig. 7, not shown) with radial slots at its periphery. It is envisaged that the invention may be also applied to rectilinear potentiometers.
