Abstract
1,087,405. Resistors. SOCIETE GERAFIN S.A. July 16, 1965 [July 28, 1964], No. 30302/65. Heading H1S. A number of resistors are formed by covering a first face of a long insulating support plate with conductive material, depositing on part of the other face a layer 3 of semi-conductive material (graphite) and continuing it into contact with the conductive material on the first face, providing pairs of holes 5 to hold terminal members 6 and cutting through the support plate between alternate terminals. The terminal members 6 are soldered to the conductive covering which is etched or cut through between them so they are connected each through a remaining strip of heat dissipating covering (2a, 2b, Fig. 1, not shown) to different parts of the semi-conductive layer 3. Each resistor is adjusted to a required value by removing semiconductive material until its value corresponds to that of a reference resistor. The semi-conductive material may be deposited by sputtering or dipping. Its connection to the conductive coating may be supplemented by a varnish with a silver base. The terminal members may be formed from a metal band 8. The resistor may be protected by varnish and " colour coded."
