Abstract
1,215,339. Resistors. ANGSTROHM PRECISION Inc. 23 Oct., 1968 [24 Oct., 1967], No. 50208/68. Heading H1S. A resistor comprising a body 10 of electrically insulating material, for example ceramic or glass, having a depression 22 formed in one surface, a film 24 of resistive material deposited in the depression, two terminals 28 and 30 on opposite ends of the body and a casing of insulating material, such as epoxy (not shown) formed around the body. Each of terminals 28 and 30 is connected to a respective lead-in wire 12 and 14 and also to a conductive film 26, for example of gold, formed on the said one surface of the body at either end 16 and 18. Alternatively the resistance film may extend across these areas to contact terminals 28 and 30 directly. The resistance of the device may be increased by grinding down the resistive film at the uppermost edges of the depression.
