Abstract

777,493. Pipe joints. FISONS, Ltd. Nov. 10, 1955 [Nov. 24, 1953], No. 34019/54. Class 99(1) The ends of pipes 1, 3, lined with corrosion resistant material 2 such as rubber, polythene, or lead, are provided with flanges 5, 6, and drawn together on to an insert 9 with tapered exterior surfaces, which insert forms a fluid tight joint with the lining material 2. The member 9 is of a corrosion resistant material such as hard lead, acid resistant steel, copper or bronze. The flanges 5, 6, are preferably bolted together by three bolts 7 intermediate which are provided three screwed positioning pins 8 which abut the flange 6 and make the joint rigid. In Fig. 3 the member 10 is provided with tapered surfaces adapted to engage pipes 11, 12 of differing diameters.
