Abstract

776,651. Ceiling &c. linings. JOHNSON, A., [trading as JOHNSON BROS.]. July 30, 1954 [Aug. 12, 1953], No. 22191/53. Class 20(4) Fibre, asbestos board &c. sheet material is secured to supporting members by a concealed clip of resilient metal &c. having two end feet shaped to bear respectively against the board and supports and an intermediate portion which bites into the board when the clip is rotated. The clip has a bent-up centre part with a strip 5 partly cut out from each side of the apex, the strips being bent down with their ends extending horizontally and the tips pointed and optionally sharpened. The clip is secured by inserting the strips into a recess 8 in the board and turning the clip through 90 degrees whereupon the board may be fixed in position by applying one of the feet 2 over the flange 9 of a supporting girder 10. Another construction dispenses with the humped portion and the foot to take over the girder flange is slightly stepped.
