Glass 89(2) A strip of staples comprises a length of sheet-metal cut to provide notched-legs 12, Fig. 3; and backs 12a interconnected centrally by webs 13. The strip is rolled into a coil for use in a machine which bends the legs and ruptures the web of each staple as it is driven. One notch 15, Fig. 4, is formed on one side of each leg, and two notches 16,17 on the other. The notched-length 18 of each leg does not exceed one quarter of the staple-length 19. Specifications 687,089 [Group, VII], and 701,021 are referred to.
