Abstract
468,954. Friction grips. EUSTON MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and DANDRIDGE, G. F. Jan. 13, 1936, No. 1075. [Class 44] [Also in Group XIV] A device for supporting brooms, garden tools, walking- sticks, &c. comprises a length of rod or wire bent into the form of an S having three arms lying parallel to one another but not in the same plane. An arm 3 formed by one free end of the wire acts as a pivot pin and may be disposed in a longitudinal groove 8 formed in a strip of wood 7 and adapted to receive the arms 3 of a number of supporting devices which are prevented from leaving the groove 8 by staples or metal stampings 10. The other two arms of the supporting device are covered with rubber sleeving 6 and support the article as shown, the outer of these arms being bent away from the other arm at 5 to facilitate insertion of the article. Instead of the wooden supporting member 7 a metal plate may be provided, having pairs of pressed-out loops carrying the pivot pins 3, and pressed-out tongues preventing the pins 3 from leaving these loops.
