443,994. Tool racks. ZERVER, A., 89, Vieringhausen, Remscheid, Germany. June 18, 1935, No. 17503. [Class 52 (v)] A holder for a set of tools such as spanners 1, comprises a base plate 2, which may be suspended on a wall, provided at one end with a tapered member 5 on which the ends of the spanners 1 are supported and at the other end with a steel strip 9 bent to form a number of spring sided slots, in which the handles of the spanners 1 may be gripped. The member 5 is provided with distance pieces 6 to separate the spanner jaws the spanners being inserted in the holder by placing the jaws in the appropriate position on the member 5 and rotating them about the member 5 until they engage in the appropriate slots. The member 5 may be a cylinder provided with collars or may be a trough. The spring sided slots may each be formed from a separate spring strip or may be formed by a rack provided with spring tongues. The base plate may have a length greater than that of the spanners and may form part of a casing which encloses the spanners and has two of its sides hinged. A flap hinged to the base plate may be capable of being locked in a position closing the spring sided slots.
