Abstract
The invention comprises Vitamin B1 methylene-bis-b -hydroxynaphthoate and the preparation thereof comprising reacting in aqueous solution a water-soluble salt of methylene-bis-b -hydroxynaphthoic acid with a water-soluble salt of Vitamin B1. The reaction may be effected at room temperature with a concentration of 5-10 per cent Vitamin B1 in the reaction mixture. In an example, sodium methylene-bis - b - hydroxynaphthoate is reacted with Vitamin B1 hydrochloride.ALSO:An animal food contains vitamin B1 methylene-bis-b -hydroxynaphthoate (see Group IV(b)).ALSO:A food preparation, e.g. flour, contains vitamin B1 methylene-bis-b -hydroxy naphthoate (see Group IV(b)).
