Abstract

770,357. Valves. GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO. Jan. 21, 1955 [Aug. 4, 1954], No. 1873/55. Class 135. The rubber stem of an inflation valve for a tubeless tyre comprises head, neck and body portions 11, 8, 7, respectively, bonded to a metal tube 5, and the head 11 is formed with an annular slot 14 of a depth substantially greater than its width. In the unstressed condition, the neck has a diameter greater than that of the wheel rim hole 3 into which it has to be forced.
