Abstract

920,878. Valves. BRIDGEPORT BRASS CO. May 27, 1960, No. 18892/60. Class 135. A valve for a tubeless tyre has a resilient stem 1, a rigid tubular insert 2, a valve disposed within the insert, and a rigid washer 12 positioned between the inner end 11 of the insert and a base 5 of the stem. The end 11 is bent radially outwards to form a flange 13 holding the washer against the stem which has a portion adjacent a shoulder 8 of larger diameter than the hole 9 in the wheel rim 6. The stem may be formed as a straight tube. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 764,935 and 781,955.
