764,935. Tyre valves. GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO. Jan. 21, 1955 [July 20, 1954], No. 1872/55. Class 135. A valve for a tubeless tyre includes a metal tube 5 bonded to a rubber stem 4 which has a neck 13 for engagement in an opening in the rim 12 of the wheel, a flange 8, and a circular recess 14 in its head. In the unstressed condition of the stem, the neck 13 has a diameter greater than the opening in the wheel rim and an axial length less than the rim thickness. The diameter of the recess is greater than that of the tube 5 but less than that of the neck 13. In modified constructions, the head may be domed, the recess may be arcuate in cross-section, the stem may be curve tapered below the rim and without the flange 8, the stem may be straight tapered over its entire length, and the recess constituting the neck 13 may slope upwardly and inwardly.
